My name is David. I was born in Michigan in the United States and raised in Arizona. I studied communications at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks and Theology at Tyndale Seminary in Badhoevedorp. Currently I am pursuing a bachelors degree in teaching English at Noordelijke Hogeschool Leeuwarden. I have been teaching for 11 years in the Netherlands in both the VO and MBO.
I really enjoy teaching and interacting with people of different cultures, languages and ages. One of my greatest joys is helping people learn and understand new things. I have even managed to convince myself that I am pretty good at it.
In my free time I play drums and percussion (in the church...schandalig!) and when I can I enjoy playing volleyball and traveling. I enjoy practicing my culinary skills and am known for making the best hamburgers in the whole north of the Netherlands (a rumor I started myself). Most importantly I recently became a grandfather for the first time even though I neither look nor feel old enough to be one.
