My name is Olga Bocancia and I am Romanian. Teaching and coaching are my passion, vocation, and avocation. I have extensive experience working as an English teacher, and a developer/manager of educational projects and I have also made a successful career as a study abroad consultant, IELTS tutor, and facilitator of the Train-the-Trainer course.
I took my first English Language study course at British Columbia South Central Interior Education School (Canada) and absolutely fell in love with the English language which still amuses me with both its complexity and simplicity as well as creativeness and beauty. I love teaching it and grasp every opportunity to constantly improve my skills - I am a holder of TESOL (Teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages) and other teaching-related certificates and there is nothing more satisfying to me than a well-conducted lesson or seeing my students achieving good results.
I have excellent communication skills gained through my experience working as a translator for such international agencies as USAID, CDC, Global Fund, UN Women and as a lecturer and tutor teaching students of different age groups, nationalities, religions, and beliefs.
I currently hold the position of Academic B2+ level coordinator at the English Academy for Newcomers (an NGO partnering with Utrecht University, Applied Linguistics Department) and conduct Conversational classes with the Language School “talkingENGLISH” in Groningen.
My goal as an English teacher is to help everyone feel comfortable understanding and speaking English while still having fun.
